Description	:	John G. Brannon, Jr. and Nancy Beall, daughter of John and Elizabeth Richards Beall, were married on Sept. 10, 1822 in (then) Lewis Co., Va. Their children included Thomas Madison, Hannibal Carr, Elizabeth, Henry B., William, Catherine, Amanda Melsy, C.A., John Santford, Permelia Ann, Marion Townsend, and Sarah Ann. He is probably buried here per research of Dr. James Woofter (Chronology of The Descendants of John and Elizabeth Richards Beall, ed. D. Radabaugh) and others. Sept. 29, 1938) about the Beall-Brannon reunion held at the Pisgah church that year: "The historic spot of Pisgah, near Dekalb, oldest village in the county and former county seat of Gilmer county, was the place chosen for the Beall and Brannon reunion again this year--September 18. "This place is revered by these and other families because it is so rich in memories and traditions of the valley. Here the early pioneers, as soon as they established homes, built a log church on the elevation which overlooks the Little Kanawha River, just across from the mouth of Cedar Creek, and called it Pisgah. "Among the earliest pioneers, who came to this valley in 1814, were John G. Brannon and his wife, Nancy Beall Brannon, Irish and English descent, from Randolph county; George H. Beall and wife, Mary A.
