Mr. Jones was born in Surry County, August 25, 1935 to George and Mary Alene Hawks Jones. He was a retired farmer and was of the Primitive Baptist faith. Surviving are his wife, Annie Draughn Jones of the home; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Mirlee and McKinley Dalton of Mt. Mr. Jones was born in Surry County, August 25, 1935 to George and Mary Alene Hawks Jones. He was a retired farmer and was of the Primitive Baptist faith. Surviving are his wife, Annie Draughn Jones of the home; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Mirlee and McKinley Dalton of Mt. Airy; Ella Mae Draughn of Dobson; Shirley and Talmadge Jenkins also of Dobson; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Parley J. "P. J." and Jane Jones of Mt. Airy; Eldridge "E.L." and Clara Mae Jones of Elk Creek, VA; Chester Harley and Barbara Jones of Siloam; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, January 30, 2007 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by Rev. Ted Crotts. Burial will follow in Sandy Ridge Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1:00 until the time of the service at the funeral home.
