Description	:	After a lingering illness of several weeks duration, death claimed John Goetzinger Sr. at his home in the southwest part of town on Monday evening at 5:45. His death was attributed to hardening of the arteries. Mr. Goetzinger was born at Mersch, Luxemberg on June 14, 1865 and died on September 12, 1932 at the age of 67 years, 2 months and 28 days. Read More	After a lingering illness of several weeks duration, death claimed John Goetzinger Sr. at his home in the southwest part of town on Monday evening at 5:45. His death was attributed to hardening of the arteries. Mr. Goetzinger was born at Mersch, Luxemberg on June 14, 1865 and died on September 12, 1932 at the age of 67 years, 2 months and 28 days. The days of his youth were spent at Mersch, Luxemberg and he worked at various occupations, until he was 28 years of age. In this same year he was united in marriage to Miss Susie Watgen of the same town. Shortly afterwards, Mr. Geotzinger with his wife came to America and located at Remsen, Ia. They lived in town but one year and then moved on a farm near that city. For twelve years the couple resided on farms near LeMars and Dalton. In the year 1906 Mr. and Mrs. Goetzinger with their family moved to Brown County, Nebraska, near Ainsworth and lived on a farm for two years. In the year 1908 they came to Creighton and purchased the James Weber farm one and a half miles west of town and in 1918 deposed of their farm interests and moved to town, where they have since resided. Nine children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Goetziner, one son dying in infancy and one son, Alfred at the age of 18. Children, who with the widow survive are; John and Joe of Creighton; Mike of Hemingford, Nebraska; Mrs. Mike DeMuth of Elgin, Nebraska; Mrs. Anton Koch of Petersburg, Nebraska; Mrs. A.H. Durbin and William of Chicago. He also leaves one brother, Mike of Owens, Ia and a number of grandchildren. The deceased had been a resident of Creighton for a good many years and maintained the highest respect of his acquaintances. In his passing his family has lost a loving father and the community an upright citizen. Funeral services will be held at St. Ludger Catholic church at 9:30 o'clock Thursday morning. Father Windolph will be in charge.
