A son of Nick and Margaret Goffinet, he was born Nov. 1, 1891, in Luxembourg, Germany. He was six years old when he game to the United States with relatives who settled in Nebraska. He lived there for five years and attended school in that state. At the age of 21 years, Mr. Goffinet came to Carroll County. He was married Jan. 16, 1917, to Barbara Schmitt at Ss. Peter and Paul's Church here by the late Rev. Joseph Kuemper. In 1918, Mr. and Mrs. Goffinet moved into their present home. Surviving with his widow is a son, Joe, at home. He also leaves three brothers and three sisters, all living in Europe. Mr. Goffinet was a member of SS. Peter and Paul's Church and the Holy Name Society of the parish.
