Hoover, age 83 years, widely known resident of Wayne county, who died Thursday evening at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Jonah Turner, three miles south of Mooreland, was held Sunday at the church of the Brethren south of Hagerstown. Hoover, age 83 years, widely known resident of Wayne county, who died Thursday evening at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Jonah Turner, three miles south of Mooreland, was held Sunday at the church of the Brethren south of Hagerstown. (His birth year was approximated.) Burial took place at the church cemetery. Mr. Hoover was probably the oldest man in Indiana who drove a motor car regularly. He drove his own automobile for many years. Mr. Hoover had lived most of his life near Hagerstown, and for a number of years had resided on a hundred-and-sixty-acre farm two miles north of Hagerstown. On account of his health, Mr. Hoover last fall moved to the farm of his daughter, where he died. He is survived by the widow, Mrs. Catherine Hoover; one sister, Mrs. Jonas Turner and Mrs. Minnie Vance of Union City; one son, Lewis Hoover, of Mooreland.
