Webber died at his home in this county, south of Cedar creek, Thursday, August 15th. Mr. Webber had been suffering for two years from cancer of the stomach. He was a member of Company I, 19th Iowa infantry, and was mustered out at the close of the war. He was in the fifty-seventh year of his age. Mr. Webber had been suffering for two years from cancer of the stomach. He was a member of Company I, 19th Iowa infantry, and was mustered out at the close of the war. He was in the fifty-seventh year of his age. He was born in Somersetshire, England, and came to America in 1850. For seven years he lived in Illinois and in 1857 came to Iowa and settled in the neighborhood where he died. He was married to Miss Anna M. Newman by whom he had three children. He was married a second time to Miss Nancy Watson and by her he had two boys. Mr. Webber was an excellent husband, father and neighbor. His many friends will mourn his loss. His remains were interred in the Smith cemetery, two miles east of Birmingham. Rev. Clark of the Free Will Baptists, conducted the funeral services. **Hand written on the top is "1895" Source: Van Buren Co.
