Stansbury was born in Logansport, Cass County, Indiana, December 25, 1848, and died at the home of his nephew, Ancel Stansbury south of Fairfield, Thursday evening, February 23, at the age of 84 years, 1 month and 29 days. He had been in declining health for the last month and gradually declined until death released him from the power of disease and pain and opened for him the door into that house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens prepared for all those who love and serve the Lord and Master of all kind. Stansbury was born in Logansport, Cass County, Indiana, December 25, 1848, and died at the home of his nephew, Ancel Stansbury south of Fairfield, Thursday evening, February 23, at the age of 84 years, 1 month and 29 days. He had been in declining health for the last month and gradually declined until death released him from the power of disease and pain and opened for him the door into that house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens prepared for all those who love and serve the Lord and Master of all kind. In 1903 he came from his Indiana home to Nuckolls County, Nebraska, where he has since lived. In Indiana he joined the Methodist Episcopal Church, and gave considerable money to the church. He leaves behind to mourn his departure, one brother Joseph of Mullen, Nebr., four nieces and four nephews: Ancel Stansbury of Deweese, Edith Ronzo, Jennie McNichols and Ralph Stansbury all of Mullen, Nebr., Will Stansbury of Roseland, Nebr., Jay Esterbrook of Rochester, Indiana, Alice Nichols and Callie Smith of Grass Creek, Indiana; and a host of other relatives and friends. His memory will linger for all time with those who knew his splendid life and genuine Christian spirit and may the example of his life so influence our lives that we may live over again the many virtues he manifested and come to the end as calm and bravely as he did. Funeral service was held at the Methodist Church in Fairfield, in charge of Rev. J.E. Johnston. The interment was made at Edgar Cemetery. A place is vacant in the home, A body sleeps beneath the sod, A journey's ended here on earth, A soul has gone to be with God.
