He married Sarah Lovell (1731-1814)on 21 Nov 1753 at Hornsea, East Riding Yorkshire, Eng. John & Sarah & nine children arrived in Nova Scotia on board either the 'Thomas & William' or 'The Prince George 14/16 May 1774 (as part of the Yorkshire immigration).
