Description	:	Shaffer Rites At 10 a.m. On Wednesday Services for John H. Shaffer, 47, of 1306 W. High-st, Nickel Plate railroad detective, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Chiles and Son chapel. The Rev. Vernon Van Buren will officiate. The body then will be removed to Monticello, Ind., for services at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Prevo and Son funeral home. The Rev. Burial will be in Riverview cemetery, Monticello. Mr. Shaffer died in St. Vincent's hospital, Toledo, Monday. He suffered injuries when struck by a freight train May 14 in the railroad yards between Flanders-av and Jefferson-st. He was born in Monticello Sept. 24, 1905, and before joining the railroad was a member of the Muncie, Ind., police force. He was a member of Grace Methodist church in Lima and the Fraternal Order of Police. Surviving are his widow, Eva B.; two sons, John W. and James H., at home; three brothers, James J. and Robert G., both of Monticello and Frank P., Connersville, Ind., and a sister, Mrs. Frances Royers, Idaville, Ind. Boudreau. they had two sons: John and James. He was a former police officer with the Muncie, Indiana Police Department. He was a Detective with the New York, Chicago and St. Louis Railroad Police.
