Funeral services were held this afternoon at 3:30 at McEwen's conducted by Rev. C. A. Francis, Rev. Harley Williams and Rev. J. A. Hudson. Burial was in Monroe city cemetery. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Davis Mills; three sons. J. C. Mills of Kannapolis, W. T Mills of Monroe, L F. Mills of Lanham. Md.; five daughters, Mrs. A. M. Lazar of Indianapolis, Ind., Mrs. V. H. Hay of Concord, Mrs George Canipe, Mrs. Glenn Holladay and Mrs. Arthur Ross, all of Charlotte: a stepdaughter, Mrs. Thomas Swain of Hertford; 20 grandchildren, 14 great-grand-children: three brothers, Henry Ellis, Sim D. and Rommie Mills, all of Wingate R-l; two sisters, Mrs. Crawford Griffin of Rich-land and Mrs. Etta Almond of Spencer.
