Description	:	Obituary taken from West Liberty Enterprise: John Passmore Called To Rest John Passmore, widely known citizen, died Saturday at his home here. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Snider Funeral Home, conducted by Rev. Walter A. Smith of the M.E. church. Mrs Guy Flater and Mrs Guy Hilderbrand sang the hyms, with Mrs John Carey as accompanist. The casket was born by Mr Passmore's old neighbors, Guy Flater, Granville Flater, Ed Hendriks, Harvey Barnhart, Army Mills and Leslie Hepker. The casket was born by Mr Passmore's old neighbors, Guy Flater, Granville Flater, Ed Hendriks, Harvey Barnhart, Army Mills and Leslie Hepker. The flowers were in charge of Mrs JJ Grigg, Mrs Harvey Barnhart and Mrs Anna Brown. Interment was made at Oakridge cemetery. The appended sketch was read in the service: John Hawke Passmore, son of Edmund and Ann Hawke Passmore was born at Wilton Junction, Sept. 9, 1857. At the age of 14 years, he came with his parents to a farm in Cedar Valley where he made his home until 1925 when he moved to West Liberty. He married Libbie Brown, who passed away in 1889. To this union two sons were born, one who died in infancy, and Edmund, of Cedar Rapids. On April 2, 1896 he was united in marriage with Elma Chasteen, who with six children, survives. The children are Mrs. Bessie Lehman and Miss Violet Passmore of West Liberty; Fred and Chester Passmore and Mrs. Agnes Jarvis of Cedar Valley, and Will Passmore of Boulder, Colo. Also 12 grandchildren, Mrs Marion Kelley, Rock Island; Fred, Walter and Robert Lehman of West Liberty; Mrs Wilma Ogren, Marie, Donald and Dwight Passmore and Leighton and Donna Fae Passmore, and Alvin and Marvin Jarvis. There also is on great-grandchild Jimmie Kelley of Rock Island, and six nieces and nephews. His parents and five brothers and sisters preceded him in death.
