Description	:	John Henry Freeser was born on a farm in St. Charles County, Missouri on January 9, 1843, the son of Stephen H. Freeser from Germany. He arrived in Virginia City July 14, 1864. On February 18, 1878, he married Miss Lizzie F. Fink, a native of Chicago. John was well known among the stockmen of Montana and for years conducted a large ranch in the Musselshell Valley. Read More	John Henry Freeser was born on a farm in St. Charles County, Missouri on January 9, 1843, the son of Stephen H. Freeser from Germany. He arrived in Virginia City July 14, 1864. On February 18, 1878, he married Miss Lizzie F. Fink, a native of Chicago. John was well known among the stockmen of Montana and for years conducted a large ranch in the Musselshell Valley. He was one of the first stockmen of the state to introduce blooded cattle. He resided at Two Dot until his death, although he had a residence in Helena for a number of years, where his children attended schools. On July 21, 1927, at age 84, he died at his home two miles east of Two Dot, Montana. John's body was brought to Helena for burial. His funeral took place from the Consistory Temple in Helena. It was attended by members of the Montana Pioneers Society and men prominent in the stock business and in the business life of central Montana. Rev. Henry M. Daniels, rector of St. Peter's Episcopal Church preached the funeral sermon. John was a member of King Solomon's Lodge, of Helena, and a thirty-second degree Scottish Rite Mason.
