The funeral was held Monday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock from the Marion street M.E. church, Rev. A.L. Golden officiating, and the remains laid to rest in Linwood Park cemetery. John K. Died at his home, 613 Marion street, on Friday morning at 10:00 o’clock after a week’s illness. The funeral was held Monday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock from the Marion street M.E. church, Rev. A.L. Golden officiating, and the remains laid to rest in Linwood Park cemetery. John K. Frew was born in Lanarkshire, Scotland, on March 2, 1857. He was one of a large family. Shen still in his teens he and his brother came to the United States to better their position. They settled in Braceville Illinois, and a little later built a home and sent for their parents and the other members of the family. In 1884 he was united in marriage with Margaret Gibson of Braceville. To this union one child Isabelle, now Mrs. Charles Ba-ford of Illinois, was born. In 1888 his wife died. On October 3, 1891 he was again married to Margaret D. Wilson of Sterlingshire, Scotland. To this union five children were born, Christina, Kyle, John, Margaret and Ellen, who survive their father. Mr. Frew and family lived ten years in Illinois, they then moved to Boone where they have resided for almost twelve years at 613 Marion street in the Fifth ward. He had been working for the past five years at High Bridge near Madrid. On Wednesday morning Dec. 4th he felt ill and went home and was constantly under medical care. His illness developed into pneumonia to which he succumbed on Friday morning, Dec. 13th at 10 o’clock. ∼possible vet, h/o #1 Margaret (Gibson) and #2 Margaret D Wilson, f/o Isabelle now Mrs Charles Blanford, Christina, Kyle, John, Margaret, and Ellen, from Boone Co Dem 19 Dec 1912
