John married Florence Smith on August 29, 1940 in Nevada, Iowa. Surviving are his wife, Florence, one son, John W (Nancy) Geer of Pleasant Hill; two daughters, Mrs Kathleen (Robert) Beard of Indianapolis, Indiana and Carol Gunderson of State Center. He is also survived by six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters, three brothers, one grandson and one son-in-law.
