Jack was born in Puyallup, WA to John C. Bartlett and Vera Eckert, Aside from a short period in California and 12 winters in Yuma, Arizona, he resided all his life in Weasen WA. Jack attended Puyallup High School and graduated from Ferndale High School in 1957. He worked at various jobs during his lifetime, eventually settling into a career as a refrigeration engineer in Puyallup and Centralia, where he retired in 2001. Jack and wife Donna traveled extensively throughout the United States and parts of Canada and Mexico, visiting friends and relatives along the way. They shared many adventures and made lots of great memories during these long road trips. Jack loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman all of his life. He provided his family with many wonderful meals of deer and elk. He eagerly looked forward to his elk hunt to Bethel Ridge and Mountain in Yakima with family and friends relished a chance to share stories of past years' hunting successes with friends new and old (even if we knew them so well we could tell them ourselves). He canned, smoked salmon was exceptional and plentiful especially when the pink were running in the Puyallup River. Jack lived to spend time at the ocean in Westport, Charter fishing for salmon or bottom fish, crabbing from the pier, and gather razor clams. He realized a lifetime goal when he fished his way around Alaska on three long trips following his retirement. Jack enjoye golfing and was an avid sports fan, attending many Seahawks, Sonics, and Mariners games over the years as well as following state high school and select team sports for his many relatives. He was an excellent race handicapper and loved to bet on the horses at Longacres race track ad later Emerald Downs. As a young man Jack rode motorcycles of all kinds and participated in many enduro and trials events. He enjoyed watching all motor sports, particularly sprint car racing. Jack is survived by his wife of 45 years, Donna, his eight children; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, and brothers and sisters Doris Pannette (James), Jim Bartlett (Donita), Dennis Bartlett (Marcia), Dick Bartlett (Carol), Jodine Magnuson (Paul), and Brooke Bartlett (Ann). He loved his family and made time for all of them in his life. they will miss him dearly, but are comforted that he is resting peacefully in the arms of lord and savior Jesus Christ. Although sorry to have him leave this life, we look forward to the day are reunited in heaven. A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Friday, April 11th, at Fir Lane Funeral Home, 924 E. 176th Street in Spanaway WA.o
