He was born on April 24, 1928 in Early Branch, SC to the late John Howell Youmans, Sr. and Bridie Crosby Youmans. After graduating from Yemassee High School, he worked with his father at the family business and later became the owner of Youmans Garage. Read More	Yemassee, SC - John Howell "Johnny" Youmans, Jr., 84, passed away on July 26, 2012 at his residence. He was born on April 24, 1928 in Early Branch, SC to the late John Howell Youmans, Sr. and Bridie Crosby Youmans. After graduating from Yemassee High School, he worked with his father at the family business and later became the owner of Youmans Garage. He was a member of Yemassee Baptist Church and had served as a Deacon. Johnny proudly served our country as a Sergeant in the US Army with the Signal Corps of the 45th Infantry Division during the Korean War. He was a charter member and President Emeritus with the Coastal Amateur Radio Association. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary Marshall Youmans of Yemassee; a son, John Howell Youmans, III (Debbie) of Beaufort and daughter, Amy L. Youmans of Yemassee. He is also survived by his sisters, Annie Mae Youmans Reeves of Yemassee and Myrtle Youmans Mickel of Beaufort; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and sisters, Margie Youmans Bisbee and Leona Youmans Brasington. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 pm on Sunday, July 29, 2012 at Sauls Funeral Home in Ridgeland. Graveside services with military honors will be at 11:00 am on Monday, July 30, 2012 at the Ebenezer Cemetery in Yemassee. A Memorial service will follow at 1:30 pm at Yemassee Baptist Church with the Reverend Brent Page officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Yemassee Baptist Church Building Fund, PO Box 68, Yemassee, SC 29945 Sauls Funeral Home of Ridgeland is assisting the family with their arrangements.
