Description	:	October 12, 1971 Wednesday Rites for John Papa David City - John J. Papa, 75, died Sunday at Schuyler Memorial Hospital. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Octavia Community Church with Rev. Kenneth Wilkinson officiating. Burial will be in Edholm Valley Cemetery. The body will lie in state today at David City Memorial Chapel. He was born Sept. 22, 1896, at Octavia to John and Gertie Papa and was a graduate of David City High School. He married his first wife, Eloine Hahn February, 1922 and she died December, 1967. An Octavia area resident he farmed near Octavia until 1959 when he retired and moved into town. In 1969 he married his second wife, the former Mrs. Grace Siedel, and moved to David City. Surviving are sons, John M. and Gilbert of Octavia, Dr. Kenneth of Athens, Ga; three daughters, Margaret of Omaha, Dorothy of Denver, Mrs. Ruth Space of Littleton, Colo.; brothers, Ira of Fremont, Irvin of Columbus and Ralph of Bellwood; sister, Mrs. Winnie Dalrymple of Superior; second wife; four step children and nine grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents, two brothers, first wife and daughter, Mrs. Phyllis Stout in May 1958.
