Description	:	John "Jack" Sullivan passed away Monday, May 14, 2012 in his home surrounded by family. Jack was raised on the family farm in Bow, Washington with his parents John and Adella (Boe) Sullivan, and his sisters Joan and Jean. He attended Edison Elementary and Burlington-Edison High School, graduating in 1955. Read More	John "Jack" Sullivan passed away Monday, May 14, 2012 in his home surrounded by family. Jack was raised on the family farm in Bow, Washington with his parents John and Adella (Boe) Sullivan, and his sisters Joan and Jean. He attended Edison Elementary and Burlington-Edison High School, graduating in 1955. Following graduation Jack started working for the Washington State Department of Transportation with his father John. He was drafted into the U.S. Army and went to Korea to serve our country, which he did with pride. After returning home, he worked for NC Machinery, and resumed rodeoing as steer wrestler. He was a member of the PRCA and while rodeoing he met Sandra Doran of Blaine, Washington. In 1966 they married at St. Maries Church in Edison. Jack went to work for Wilder Construction in 1968. He worked for 35 years as an Operating Engineer Union member (Local 302) all over Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, and Alaska. Jack and Sandy were blessed with three children - Angie, Tommy, and Kate and one grandchild - Maggie Jean Olsen. They have also mentored many young people through adulthood; that they treated as if they were their own children. Jack is survived by his wife, Sandy; daughters, Angie Sullivan and Kate & Gus Olsen; grandchild Maggie Jean; sister Joan & Reg Dickhaus; brother-in-law, Pete Ford; sisters-in-law, Patsy & Del Boldt, and Gayla & John Kramme; brother-in-law ,Tom & Donna Doran; and numerous nieces and nephews. He also left behind Penny and Pebbles, his beloved dogs. Jack was preceded in death by his son, Tommy John; parents, John & Adella Sullivan; parents-in-law, Pat & Lois Doran; sister, Jean Ford; brother-in-law, Gerald Reinert; and many beloved friends and family members. The service will be Saturday, May 19th 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Hulbush Funeral Home in Burlington Washington. A celebration of Jack's life will follow at the Edison Fire Hall. Donations are suggested for the Edison Fire Department. Jack was a generous, loving, and brave man. He shall be missed. Published in Skagit Valley Herald Publishing Company on May 19, 2012
