Read More	John Ehrenberg Fatally Injured in Mishap Monday Dies Early Wednesday Morning at Lutheran Hospital in Norfolk; Suffers Injuries in Runaway John Ehrenberg, 38 year old farmer living 12 miles northwest of Creighton, was fatally injured Monday forenoon about 11 o'clock when the team of horses he had hitched to an empty hay rack bolted and ran away. All but three ribs on his left side were broken, his left lung was punctured, his right arm was fractured in two places and his left leg was broken. The latter member was "slivered" and some of the bone was removed in an operation Monday night. His back was also injured to some extend and he suffered other minor bruises. The injuries resulted in his death Wednesday morning about 1 o'clock at the Lutheran hospital in Norfolk. His wife and mother were at the bedside. Mr. Ehrenberg was alone, about a mile from home, when the tragic accident happened. He was using a three horse team, which had always been hard to handle and had run away before on previous occasions. He was standing beside the rack when the horses suddenly bolted and started toward home. He had hold of the lines and tried vainly to hold them back while he climbed up into the rack. Pulling of the lines from the side caused the horses to veer to the ditch and he was caught squarely between the rack and the bank of the ditch, which was better than waist high. The rack, crushing him tightly against the bank, being pulled at a terrific speed by the horses, revolved him four times before it passed him. When the horses came running into the farmyard with the empty rack, Mrs. Ehrenberg at once knew that something was wrong, but as the team had run away on previous occasions, she unhitched them, expecting her husband to return on foot. When he did not come she became anxious and started down the road to look for him. She met her husband's brother, Henry, who lives nearby and who had also glimpsed the runaway team and together they took up the search. Upon finding the injured man on the roadside, Dr. R.H. Burrell, Creighton physician, was summoned and Mr. Ehrenberg was immediately rushed by ambulance to the Lutheran hospital at Norfolk. He was clearly conscious when found and remained so up until the time of his death. John Ehrenberg is a son of Mrs. Isabelle Ehrenberg of near Creighton. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife and two children, one five and the youngest not yet two years old. His wife's maiden name was Eleanor Larsen. Funeral services will be Friday afternoon at 1 o'clock at the home and at 1:30 at the Creighton Methodist church with the pastor, Rev. R.B.E. Hill, officiating.
