Services were held the following Monday at Hope Christian Reformed Church with the Rev; James Cooper officiating. Burial was in Hope Cemetery under the direction of the Kraai Funeral Home. Survivors include the widow; nine sons, Richard of Sioux Center, John R. of Hudsonville, Michigan, Ralph and Robert, both of Hull; Marinus of Ferndale, Washington, Gerald of Sheldon, Jake and Andrew, both of Rock Valley, and William John of Winneconne, Wisconsin; three daughters, Mrs. Raymond (Mary) Grooters of Sanborn. Mrs. Gerrit (Ruth) Van Engen of Sioux Center and Mrs. Gerrit (Berdina) Van Maanen of Lakewood California; 47 grandchildren and 59 great-grandchildren. Rock Valley Bee 1978-08-30.
