Description :
John Van Wyhe, a young man about 22 years [sic!] of age, in the employ of F. M. Slagle & Co., this city, shuffled off this mortal coil last Friday night by drinking about half a pound of paris green.

No reason is given for the act except insanity, as the young man had twice been incarcerated in a lunatic asylum, and returned presumably cured.

During the summer the young man had been killing potato bug with the poison, and it is upposed he secreted some of it for this very purpose.
