Description	:	Husband of: Bridget O'Hara Dunne. Mr. Dunne died Saturday morning following a two weeks' illness of pneumonia. He was born in Jones county March 5, 1845, and lived his entire life here with the exception of four years spent in California. When he was four years old, he accompanied his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Dunne, to California in the gold rush of 1849. The trip was made in a covered wagon. He is survived by the following sons and daughters: James and Gerald, both of Cascade; Michael of Davenport; Elmer of Bernard; Mrs. William Kumerow and Mrs. Nicholas Bechen, both of Dubuque; Mrs. Clarence Karns of Marshalltown; Mrs. Pat McCarthy of Bernard; Mrs. Leo Hardiman of Farley, and Sadie, Florence and Pearl, all at home. One brother, Edward, preceded him in death. Funeral services for John J. Dunne, 70, pioneer settler of Garryowen, were held in St. Patrick's church at Garryowen Monday morning at 9 o'clock. The Rev. P.J. Malone, pastor, read the mass of requiem. Burial was in St. Patrick's cemetery.
