Surviving are his wife, Alma; 4 sons, Eugene, Roman, Ernest and Marvin, all of Omaha, 3 daughters, Rita, Des Moines, Iowa, Mrs. James (Margaret) Trierweiler, Buck Grove, Iowa and Mary, Los Angeles, California, 2 granddaughters, his father, Fred Katzer, Sr., Greeley, Kansas, 2 brothers, Anthony, Greeley, Kansas and Louis, Buck Grove, Iowa, 5 sisters, Mrs. Hubert (Emma) Kenkel and Mrs. Henry (Mary) Thraen, Earling, Iowa, Mrs. Charles (Anna) Pauley, Rushville, Missouri, Mrs. Kenneth (Agnes) Alexander and Clara Katzer, both of Greeley, Kansas. Funeral services were held at St. Peter's Church, Defiance, Iowa, Monday April 8, 1963 with the Rev. Gerald Deere celebrant of the Requiem High Mass. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery, Portsmouth, Iowa. Pallbearers were 6 nephews of the deceased; James Katzer, George Alexander, Urban Katzer, Norman Kenkel, Marcus Thraen and Charles Blum.
