Description	:	John Keith Arabia, 80, of 724 E. 20th Street, died at 3:26 a.m. at the Mt. Carmel Medical Center. He had been in ill health for the past year and hospitalized for the last time on December 29, 1990. Mr. Arabia was born on July 9, 1910 at Breezy Hill, to Frank and Winifred (Montgomery) Arabia. He attended Lincoln and Washington Elementary Schools and graduated from Pittsburg High School. He then went to the Rolla School of Mines at Rolla, Missouri and graduated from college there. He had been in ill health for the past year and hospitalized for the last time on December 29, 1990. Mr. Arabia was born on July 9, 1910 at Breezy Hill, to Frank and Winifred (Montgomery) Arabia. He attended Lincoln and Washington Elementary Schools and graduated from Pittsburg High School. He then went to the Rolla School of Mines at Rolla, Missouri and graduated from college there. He had lived in the Pittsburg area all of his life and in Pittsburg proper for 55 years. He married Melva Alberta Jones on February 1, 1936 at Carthage, Missouri. Mr. Arabia worked in the coal mines in his younger years. He became a carpenter and had built and remodeled many homes in Pittsburg and also worked on the dormitories at Pittsburg State University. He retired last year because of ill health. He had served for a while in the National Guard. Membership was held in the Grace United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Pittsurg Masonic Lodge # 187; AF&AM; Fort Scott Consistory; and the Mirza Shrine. He was formerly a member of the Shrine Arab Patrol. Membership was also held in the Carpenter's Union, and he was a past president of that union. Survivors include his wife of the home; two sons, Paul Arabia of Wichita, John Arthur Arabia in Suisun, California; one daughter, Sandra Kay Arabia of 714 E. 11th Street; one brother, Mike Arabia of Chicago; four sisters, Edith Baulle of Arma, Angie Carpino of Arma, Anna Capone of Colorado, and Mary Brode of Chicago; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers; Tommy Arabia and Harry Trout. Services will be 2 p.m. Monday, January 7th at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home, 522 S. Broadway, with the Rev. Verl Strong of the Grace United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Garden Of Memories Cemetery. Casket bearers are Randy Lepoglow (grandson-in-law), Marvin Baulle, Keith Smith (grandson), Frank Crespino, Jim Johnson and Kent Smith (grandson). The family will receive friends from 7 - 8 p.m. Sunday at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home. The Pittsburg Masonic Lodge will provide the masonic rites at 7:30 p.m.
