Description	:	Boone County Democrat 19 Jan 1912 John Klute Sr., a well-known resident of Logansport, passed away at the home of his son, August Klute, at Fulda, Minnesota, Wednesday, January 10th. The remains were brought to Boone for burial and the funeral was held from the Sacred Heart church at 10:00 o'clock Saturday morning, conducted by the Rev. Father Barron, burial in the Catholic cemetery. Mr. Klute resided in Boone and vicinity for about twenty five years and was well known. Many relatives still reside here. Read More	Boone County Democrat 19 Jan 1912 John Klute Sr., a well-known resident of Logansport, passed away at the home of his son, August Klute, at Fulda, Minnesota, Wednesday, January 10th. The family have the sincere sympathy of many friends in their sorrow. ********** John was the son of Johannes Wilhelm Klute and Theresia Rinschen. He was born and baptized on 7 August 1836 at Haaren, Büren, Westphalia, Prussia, Germany. John's parents married on 22 October 1830, also at Haaren, Büren, Westphalia, Prussia, Germany. [Johannes Wilhelm Klute's father was born & baptized on 11 October 1803 at the same location. He was the son of Johan Meinolph Klute. Johannes Wilhelm Klute's mother was Anna Catherina Lammers.] So far, six siblings have been identified and all were born at the same location as John: Anna Maria Klute, b. 25 April 1831 Conrad Klute, b. 6 November 1833 Heinrich Klute, b. 6 November 1840 Gertrude Klute, b. 15 March 1843 Scholastica Klute, b. 9 June 1846 Caspar Klute, b. 25 November 1848 On 12 August 1882, John & Mary Klute and three of their four known German-born children arrived in New York aboard the SS Schiedam, having sailed in steerage from Rotterdam to New York. [Family unit of Johann & Maria with children Theresia, Conrad & August.
