Read More	John KRAYENHAGEN Birth: 2 Jun 1865 in Kiel, Province of Holstein, Germany Death: 27 Apr 1955 in Holstein, Burial: 30 Apr 1955 Oakland Cemetery, Denison, Crawford County, Iowa 2 3 John Krayenhagen, son of Christian and Anna Krayenhagen, was born in Kiel, Holstein, Germany, on June 2, 1865 and passed away at Holstein, Iowa, on April 27, 1955 at the age of 89 years, 10 months and 25 days. At the age of 17, he came, with his parents, to this country and settled at Clinton, Iowa. In 1912 he came to a farm in Crawford county and has since resided in this area. In 1888, he was married at Clinton to Anna Dierks, who passed away in 1935. To this union nine children were born. Three of his sons, John, Chris, and Alvin preceded him in death. Survivors are six children. Arthur, Ida Grove; Ernest, Ida Grove; Marvin, Battle Creek; August, Holstein; Malinda, Mrs. Louie Retman, of Denison; and Margaret, Mrs. John Segebart, of Ida Grove. Also surviving are 35 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren. Three sisters and two brothers preceded him in death. Krayenhagen was baptized in Germany in the Lutheran faith. Funeral services for the deceased were held Saturday, April 30, 1955, with Rev. Gerald Rosenberger officiating and burial was made in the Oakland cemetery. Pallbearers were Earl Krayenhagen, Donald Krayenhagen, Kenneth Krayenhagen, Marlin Krayenhagen, Robert Segebart and Ray Reetz. Father: Christian M.
