Description	:	John L. Leier ,93, formally of Braddock, passed away on January 13, 2022. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 18, at St. Katherine's Church, Braddock ND. Visitation will be held Monday, January 17 from 5-7:00 p.m. with a vigil/rosary service at 7:00pm at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck. Visitation will resume an hour before service. John was born on February 19, 1928 the son of Joseph and Clara (Schmidt) Leier. Visitation will resume an hour before service. John was born on February 19, 1928 the son of Joseph and Clara (Schmidt) Leier. He was raised on a farm near Napoleon ND and attended Manheim grade school. John was married to the love of his life, Monica Horner, June 20th, 1950. They farmed north of Braddock since 1950. They raised 9 fabulous children that he loved dearly. John was a great husband and father and grandfather. He loved fishing, hunting and trapping. Also enjoyed doing taxidermy. He had fun playing baseball with his kids and grandkids. Enjoyed farming and milked cows for many years. His favorite past time was playing pinochle and spending time with family and friends. John was involved with Lions Club, Farmers Union, BEK Communications, KEM electric and St Katherines church. He was also involved with the Braddock Thrashers Association and Trappers Association. John and Monica enjoyed fishing trips and enjoyed traveling. He will be missed by five sons, Dennis and Patty Leier, Keith and Lori Leier, Glenn and Tina Leier, Leon and Gina Leier, all of Bismarck; four daughters Leeshia and Tom Hayes, Clara and Steve Lacher, Marsha Leier and Kent Schantz, all of Bismarck, and Vivian and Gene Windhorst, Alexandria, MN; 29 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren; brothers Martin (Maggie)Leier, Larry (MaryAnn) Leier; sisters Caroline (Pete) Glatt, Christina Schwartzenberger, Lorriane (Andy) Piatz, Pauline Slovarp; brothers-in-law, Andy Horner and Cliff (Aggie) Horner; sisters-in-law, Betty (Masseth) Wiecks, Jolanta Horner, and Angeline Jacob; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He is proceeded in death by his wife of 61 years, Monica; parents, Joe and Clara Leier; granddaughter Brittany Leier; son-in-law Tom Kramer; brothers and sisters-in-law Julias (Marcella) Leier and Leonard (Theresa) Leier; brother-in-law Jerome Schwarzenberger, Richard Slovarp, George Horner, Valentine Jacob, Rod Wiecks, and Albert Horner; and sister-in-law, Rose Horner.
