Born at Sand Flat February 26, 1894, he was the son of the late Charles E. Niner and Mary E. (Lebor) Niner. Mr. Niner was an Army veteran of World War I and worked as a coal miner for 56 years, including 37 years for the Stanley Coal Company, which formerly operated in Crellin. Lewis, Corinth, W.Va.; Miss Mary C. Niner, Deer Park; seven sons, Joseph P. Niner, Lester J. Niner, Francis G. Niner and James E. Niner, all of Deer Park; Carl E. Niner, Mtn. Lake Park; Henry L. Niner, Oakland; William E. Niner, Loch Lynn; one stepson, Frank Rizer, Oakland; three sisters, Mrs. Anna E. Hawkins, Oakland; Mrs. Pearl M. Minnick, Eckhart; Mrs. Lillian Mersing, Frostburg; 26 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Friends will be receive at the Stewart Funeral Home, Oakland, where a Christian wake service was held on Sunday evening. A mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday at St. Peter’s Catholic Church by Father Martin Field. Interment as in the Deer Park Cemetery.
