Description	:	John was the oldest child of Rev. George Washington and Mary Caroline (Barbre) Keller. His parents went to Kansas as United Bretheren missionaries to convert the Indians living there to Christianity. After enduring Indian raids on the Stockade in Sun City where they lived, one horrific day the parents went out to call on parishioners in the countryside. He and "Betty" had ten children: Mary Etta, who married Bill Smith and died in childbirth; William Leroy, husband of Sylvia Wells; Oren Albert; Arbey John, who married Anna Petrie; George Melvin, who married Ethel Beatrice Ward; Orley Harvey, who was struck by lightning on his way home from school and died on the spot; Emma Lucinda; Agatha May, who also died in childbirth; John, who died at birth; and Anna Lenora , wife of Samuel Grant Campbell.
