Description	:	Head Stone is Wrong There seems to be an error on John's gravestone. His gravestone has his year of birth at 1871 but it should be 1891. According to his Social Security Application, US Headstone Application record and other records his DOB is October 20, 1891 and his DOD is May 19, 1955. Thought I would explain the edit that I am going to send for John's memorial. You probably should add an explanation on his memorial so that others do not question the different DOB. He died 11 p.m. Thursday at his home in Norfolk from a heart attack. He was born Oct. 20, 1891 at Coleridge to Mr. and Mrs. Van Everie Ballard. He was served in the U. S. Navy during World War I. He was married to Miss Inez Atwood at Sioux City, Iowa. They had 5 children. She died when her twins sons were born. He was married in 1941 to Clara Frank at Verdigre. He was survived by his wife Clara, 3 daughters: Mrs. Delbert Amen at Pierce, Mrs. Leon Siecke , Mrs. Gene Sevening both at Norfolk; 2 sons: Von at Omaha, Don at Wahoo; 5 grandchildren, 1 sister Mrs. Tom Van Buren in Florida; 4 brothers: Charles at Norfolk, Jed at Laguna Beach, California; Herman at Santa Rosa, California; James at Los Angeles, California.
