Description	:	Funeral services for John L. Blankenship of Eagle Grove, were held from the Willim Funeral Home in Dows on Wednesday, February 5 at 1:30 p.m. Rev. Paul Jackson from the Assembly of God Church in Eagle Grove officiated and burial followed in the Dows Fairview Cemetery. Mr. Blankenship died at his home in Eagle Grove on Monday, February 3 of cancer. He was born in Texahoma, Texas and was the son of Edward and Hattie Maddox Blankenship. Mr. Blankenship died at his home in Eagle Grove on Monday, February 3 of cancer. He was born in Texahoma, Texas and was the son of Edward and Hattie Maddox Blankenship. He attended country schools in Wright and Franklin counties. On March 16, 1943 he was united in marriage to Lorna Wright and in 1954 they moved to Eagle Grove. He was the owner and operator of J. B. Farm Equipment until 1962 when it was dissolved. He was then employed by the Eagle Grove Farmers Cooperative for 14 years and retired in 1979. Survivors include his wife, Lorna of Eagle Grove; one daughter, Mrs. Norman (Carol) Hanson of Dows; four grandchildren; one brother, Rex of Muskogee, Oklahoma and two sisters, Louise Holdgrafer of Ackley and Audrey Roe of Webster City.
