Description	:	LITTLE ROCK AREA FARMER DIES IN FREAK ACCIDENT John M. Kruse, 53, Little Rock farmer, was killed Friday night in what Dr. H. H. Gessford, Lyon county coroner ruled "a freak farm accident." Death was due to strangulation. His body was found in a bean field about 10:30 p.m. Friday by Mrs. Kruse who had just returned from church. Read More	LITTLE ROCK AREA FARMER DIES IN FREAK ACCIDENT John M. Kruse, 53, Little Rock farmer, was killed Friday night in what Dr. H. H. Gessford, Lyon county coroner ruled "a freak farm accident." Death was due to strangulation. His body was found in a bean field about 10:30 p.m. Friday by Mrs. Kruse who had just returned from church. According to the report, Mr. Kruse had been working on a combine and became entangled in a quarter-inch rope while oiling the machine. The rope was found around his neck. An autopsy report ruled out heart attack or suicide. Funeral services for Mr. Kruse were held at the Salem Reformed Church in Little Rock, Tuesday afternoon with the Reverend F. Snuttjer officiating. Mrs. Elmer Zorgdrager was at the organ and a quartet, Mrs. Dick Van Hove, Mrs. F. Snuttjer, Fred Asche and R. W. Hinrichs sang. Interment was in the Little Rock Cemetery. John M. Kruse was born January 4, 1910, to Martin D. Kruse and his wife, Minnie Williams Kruse. A year later the family moved to the farm place where he met his death. He married Harriet Huls of Little Rock on Feb. 23, 1949, and they were the parents of three children. Surviving are the widow and children, Harris John, age 9, and twins Jolene Lucille and Jodene Marcelle, age 4; his mother, and the following brothers and sisters, Dick of Little Rock, Fannie, Mrs. Ben Van Briessen of Rock Rapids, Helmer of George, Etta, Mrs. George Schubert, of Little Rock, Martin of Little Rock, Edward of Sioux Falls and William of Ellsworth, also 30 nieces and nephews.
