The coroner’s jury in the inquest held yesterday afternoon, did not fix any responsibility for the fatality of Wednesday morning when two men lost their lives on the Jefferson street railroad crossing. The verdict submitted at the close of the evidence stated in substance that John Wyatt and John Parker came to their death by being struck by Burlington train No. 15 between 3:10 and 3:10 [sic] a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 27, 1913. The jurors claimed inability to fix responsibility from the evidence taken. The funeral services of the two victims of the accident were held today. The Parker service was held this morning at 10 o’clock from his residence east of the city, conducted by Rev. A.B. Cadwell. Interment was in McCormick cemetery at Highland Center. The Wyatt funeral was held from the residence, 527 West Second street, at 2:30 o’clock this afternoon, conducted by Rev. B.F. Patt. Interment was in Shaul cemetery.
