Noone conducted the rites and judge William D. Hattan delivered the eulogy. Mrs. J.M. Rausch and Mrs. J.J. Noone, with Mrs. Rausch at the organ, sang, “God Will Take Care of You” and “It Is Well With My Soul.” Despite a snowstorm, the funeral was largely attended. Besides his widow, Edna Childers, he is survived by three sons, Sydney, Harold and Milton, all of goldfield; a daughter, Mrs. Charles Hatton of Reno; four grandchildren, Robert, Allen and Stewart Childers, all of Goldfield, and David Foster of Reno; three sisters, Catherine Hogden, Lillian Schaefer, and Sadie Whiteside, and two brothers, David Childers and Frederich Childers, all of Ely, Minn. Mr. Childers was seventy years of age and a native of Illinois. He had resided in Goldfield for thirty-four years and came here from Cripple Creek, Colorado, where he had made his home for ten years. Jan. 26 – John Mark Childers, a native of Minnesota, died yesterday following a long illness. Childers, former Esmeralda county commissioner, had resided here since 1906. He came here from Cripple Creek, Colo., where he had lived for ten years. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. J.M. Childers, three sons; Harold Childers, Sidney Childers and Wilton Childers of goldfield; a daughter, Mrs. Charles Haton of Reno, and a sister and brother, who reside in Minnesota.
