Stocker Dead John Martin Stocker, 87, retired farmer, died at 9:45 last Friday night at his home five miles west of here. he had been ill with a heart ailment and had been bedfast the past four weeks. Mr. Stocker was born March 16, 1858, near Dayton, Ohio. He came to this vicinity in 1878, and in 1884 was married to Laura Snow, who survives, at the home where he died. Mr. Stocker was born March 16, 1858, near Dayton, Ohio. He came to this vicinity in 1878, and in 1884 was married to Laura Snow, who survives, at the home where he died. The family moved to Oklahoma in 1894, but in 1916 returned here and for a time lived in town before going back on the farm. Mr. Stocker was a member of the Methodist church and the Security Benefit Association. In addition to the widow, he is survived by three sons, Vern of the home, Johnnie of McCune, R.R.3, and Howard of McCune, R.R.2; eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2:00 o'clock Monday afternoon in the Methodist church with Rev. M.G. McIntosh officiating. Burial was in the Cherokee cemetery.
