Description	:	John N. Fischer, age 78, of Kranzburg, SD, passed away on Thursday, February 18, 2016 at Prairie Lakes Hospital in Watertown. Funeral mass will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at Holy Name Catholic Church in Watertown with Father Michael Wensing officiating. Becky Lubbers will be the song leader accompanied by Donna Williams. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. on Monday at the Wight & Comes Funeral Chapel in Watertown. John Nicholas Fischer was born to John M. and Catherine M. (Feyereisen) Fischer on January 8, 1938 in Watertown, South Dakota. He grew up near Kranzburg, South Dakota. He was baptized and confirmed in the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Kranzburg and attended Holy Rosary Catholic School. John joined the South Dakota Army National Guard and served for six years. He also farmed near Kranzburg. John enjoyed fishing, visiting with friends and playing cards. He had been a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters since 1943. John is survived by his sisters, Clarice True of Haverhill, MA, and Delores Schutt of Lynnwood, WA; 5 nieces and nephews; 9 great nieces and nephews; 6 great-great nieces and nephews; and his neighbors and friends, Larry and Diana Cole and Michael and Lois Fischer of Kranzburg. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother-in-law, Donald Schutt.
