He was born May 17, 1842 near Danzig, West Prussia, Germany where he was baptized and confirmed. In 1855?, with his parents, he came to Winnebago county, Wis., and in 1864 he was united in marriage to Wilhelmina Linstadt. They came to Hall county, Neb., in 1875. The union was blessed with ten children, six sons and four daughters. One son died in 1912 and his wife passed away in 1913. In Sept. 1916, he was married to Bertha Grosch. His death on February 14, 1921, followed a stroke of paralysis. He leave to mourn his loss his widow, five sons and four daughters, as also 40 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 3 brothers and 2 sisters. At the time of his demise he was 79 years, 8 months and 27 days old. Funeral services will be held from the residence, 106 East Koenig street Thursday afternoon at one o'clock and at 2 o'clock from St. John's Lutheran church, nine miles northeast of the city, Rev. G. H. Michelmann officiating. Interment will be made in the Wiegert cemetery.
