Description	:	John 0. King, 83, a resident at the Iowa Veterans Home died there early Tues-dday, Nov. 25, 2001. Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Monday from the Chapel at the Iowa Veterans Home with Chaplin Angela Doty officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens, with military honors provided by the Veterans Home Memorial Squad. He was born on May 10, 1920 in Clemons, the son of Virde and Iona Everist King. On February 20, 1947 in San Leandro, Calif. he was united in marriage to Frances Lawrence. She preceded him in death in February of 1992. Reared... Read More	John 0. On February 20, 1947 in San Leandro, Calif. he was united in marriage to Frances Lawrence. She preceded him in death in February of 1992. Reared and educated in Clemons, he joined the U.S. Navy and served during WW II. After being discharged, they moved back to the Marshalltown area where he was a mechanic for Cessford Construction Co. and drove a charter bus for Marshall Motor Coach Co., retiring in 1977. In the spring of 1997 he moved to the Veterans Home. John is survived by two brothers, Duane E. King of Council Bluffs and Louis J. King of Meridian, Idaho; and a sister, Leona M. Gray of Ames.
