The deceased was born in this township January 8, 1827, being past 75 years of age. He was a son of John Rogers, a native of Ireland. Rogers of Dana, after an illness of 3 or 4 months, result of 2 strokes of paralysis, died on Tuesday evening of last week, April 22, 1902. The deceased was born in this township January 8, 1827, being past 75 years of age. He was a son of John Rogers, a native of Ireland. His father settled on Helts Prairie in 1824, and before the subject of this notice was born, he moved to this township, located about 3 miles northeast of Dana, where he spent the remainder of his life. Mr. John O. Rogers was a Justice of the Peace of this township for many years. He was twice married. First to Ruth Kerns, who bore him 4 children, 2 of whom died in infancy. The other 2 survive him. He was again married August 21, 1877, to Ruhama Hutson, a daughter of David Hutson. To them was born one child, a daughter, who with the wife survive him. About 12 or 15 years ago Mr. Rogers moved to Dana, where he spent the rest of his days. He was a pure man, and lived a true Christian life. He united with the M.E. Church in early life and always lived an exemplary life. A good man has passed to his reward. His funeral sermon was preached in the M.E. Church at Dana at 10 a.m. on Thursday last by Rev. H.H. Dunlavy, after which his remains were taken to the Helts Prairie Cemetery . She is also to have the use and profits of all my other real estate. She is also to have my personal property. 3. To my son WILLIAM FRANKLIN ROGERS, 54 acres real estate; to my son JAMES IRVIN ROGERS, ? acres of real estate, to my daughter SARAH ELIZABETH ROGERS, 60 acres of real estate. 4. The said real estate is subject to life interest in favor of my wife RUHAMA H. ROGERS. 5. I appoint my friend ALBERT C. SHARP Executor.
