Read More	MUSSINAN NEAR CENTURY MARK ____________________________ When Death Came – Was Native of Germany ____________________________ John Baptiste Mussinan, son of Fred and Rosina Dolde Mussinan was born in Bavaria, Germany, August 27, 1833, and departed this life Nov. 6th, being at the time of his death 97 years, 2 months, and 10 days of age. His father who was an official of the government gave him a liberal education sending him to one of the country's leading colleges from which he graduated. Later in life he also attended a commercial school. Reports received from these schools tell of his studios habits and his ability to learn, especially in mathematics and language. He served in the German army as an officer and certificates and discharges commend his work, while in the service of his native land, but he soon tired of this life and followed a business career loving the pursuits of peace more than the glamour of military life. On August 13, 1859, he was united in marriage to Appollonia Micshler. This union was blessed with a large family. They came to America in 1864. It was his misfortune however to lose his good wife after eighteen years of married life and to him passed the responsibility of rearing the children without a mother's help. Within recent years, three sons, Louis, Otto and Oscar have answered the call of the Master, but the inherited vitality of the subject of this sketch was such that he has lived to a ripe old age far beyond the allotted three score and ten. During the past Eighteen years he has made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Martin Klinker who has ever administered loving care to make his declining years comfortable. She with the surviving members of the family. August, Fred, Mrs. George Westerman of Cincinnati, and Joseph W. of Ripley, together with other relatives and friends survive to mourn his life. Funeral services were conducted at the Klinker residence on South Second Street, Saturday afternoon with Rev. W. S. Dilbert of Centenary M. E. Church in charge. Beautiful music was sung by Mrs. Dilbert, Mrs. Ed Blatter and Miss Flora Bloom. Burial followed in Maplewood Cemetery. Those attending from out-of-town, Mr. and Mrs. George Westerman, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Westerman and son, August Mussinan, Douglas Mussinan, George Bishoff, Mrs. Will Neimer, Fred Mussinan, all of Cincinnati, and Mr. and Mrs. R.
