Read More	LONG SUFFERING ENDED Pioneer Resident of North Country Give Up Struggle With Disease After a Long Hard Fight When the news of the death of John Paulson came Saturday evening the people of the community breathed a sigh of relief for they felt that he had passed beyond the realm of pain and suffering. Early last winter, on January 4th to be exact, Mr. Paulson broke his leg while in bed, the bone having become diseased from cancer. From the very first the attending physician gave no hopes of recovery, but everything possible was done to make him comfortable, though with but poor success. The broken bone in its diseased condition would not heal and the patient was compelled to lie flat on his back for weeks and months with but little chance for a change in position. No one will ever know the intense suffering he was compelled to bear during those endless days and nights. And the hot weather of the past month has increased the discomfort. Mr. Paulson was one of the early day pioneers of this locality. He was a successful farmer and by industry and thrift accumulated a goodly heritage inlands and chattels. He first located on a farm southeast of town belonging to Mr. Hughitt, one of the officials of the Northwestern Railway, later purchasing the farm northeast of town where he resided at the time of his death. Mr. Hughitt was a warm friend of Mr. Paulson and made a visit to the family here quite frequently, and nearly every winter Mr. Paulson would receive a pass from Mr. Hughit and go to Chicago to repay the visit. Mr. John Paulson, the son of Peter and Anna Paulson was born near Allborough, Denmark May 1 1850 and departed this life June 25, 1921, being aged at his demise 71 years, 1 month and 24 days. He was married to Miss Johanne Sofie Lindberg at Chicago, May 12, 1876. To this union were born ten children, five of whom died in infancy and Mrs. Louise Granberg who passed away who passed away November 6, 1919. The children who survive are Mrs. Clara Willard of Wessington and Walter, Harry, and Lewis W. all of whom reside at home. Mr. Paulson also leaves one sister, Mrs. Minnie Friis of Chicago, who was with him during 9 weeks of his late illness. Besides 4 grandchildren he leaves a number of other relatives and friends who deeply mourn their loss. He was, in early childhood baptized and confirmed, and became a member of the Lutheran church.
