Walker, 75, at the Slininger Chapel here June 16 with the Rev. Frank Oleson of the Evangelical Free Church and the Rev. David D. Goln of Central Christian Church officiating. Wendell Wright was soloist, and Mrs. Eldon Kinsman was at the organ. Bearers were Paul Leichsenrlng, Bruce Williams Jr., Roger Walker, Gall McDonald, Paul Wilbur and John Butler. Interment was in the Dawson Township Cemetery. John P. Walker, son of Adelbert and Juliette Pemble Walker, was born May 13, 1895 in Dawson Township, Greene County, Iowa. John attended school and grew to manhood in this locality. January 22, 1918 he and Ella M. Beals were united in marriage. After serving in World War I from July 26, 1918 until February 12, 1919, he returned to Dawson Township, and the couple established their home on a farm. Three sons and one daughter were born to this union. Ella passed away June 17, 1964. John was a member of the Central Christian Church in Jefferson. January 13, 1968 he was united in marriage to Susan Saemisch, and they have made their home in Jefferson. John passed away June 13, 1970 at the Greene County Hospital at the age of 75 years and 1 month. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ella; three brothers: Frank, Charles, and George.
