Description	:	Mr. John Peter Brown, died at the home of his son, M.F. Brown, near Boyd, last Thursday, January 26, 1915. He was aged 85 years, five months and 11 days. The death of this good man was due to the encroachment of old age with its attendant weakness. His life wore itself gradually away until his final slumber came and he was to rest. Read More	Mr. John Peter Brown, died at the home of his son, M.F. Brown, near Boyd, last Thursday, January 26, 1915. He was aged 85 years, five months and 11 days. The death of this good man was due to the encroachment of old age with its attendant weakness. His life wore itself gradually away until his final slumber came and he was to rest. Mr. Brown was born in Germany, near Luxemburg, August 15, 1829 and came to America when he was 29 years of age. He first settled at Memphis, TN, and then was employed by different cities until he finally located at Holy Cross in Dubuque County, Iowa. He he was united in Marriage to Miss Katherine Kolbet in 1860. They lived in Dubuque for seven years and then came to live in Chickasaw County where they have lived ever since. Mr. Brown was the father of twelve children, all but one whom survive him, one daughter dying in infancy. The living are Miss Anna Still of Oelwein, Matthias, Joesph, Michael, Henry, Tony, John and Thomas Brown of Chickasaw County, Peter and Leonard Brown of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Nicholas Brown of Denver, Colorado and Dominick of Aberdeen, South Dakota. Relatives from a distance at the funeral were Mrs. Kate Kolbet and sons Nicholas and John of Alta Vista and Mrs. J.V. Nargang of this city. The funeral will be held on Thursday, January 28, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Lawler, Iowa.
