We are sorry to state the death of our friend and neighbor, Peter Glenn, who died at the home of his sister, Mrs. Agnes Kirkwood, in Leonard. He was a good man, a member of the Salvation Army and was 43 years old. He was raised on a farm in this neighborhood. He met with an accident that made a cripple of him. He was cook out west and when he was at work he let a stove lid fall on his foot. The bruise and burn together made blood poison set in and he had to have it amputated below the knee. About three weeks ago he went to St. Louis and bought a leg and foot for which he paid $250. His sister, Mrs. John Coleman of St. Louis, and her two daughters, Robert Glenn of Oklahoma and his niece, Mrs. Tom Kemp, and her husband from Illinois came over here to attend the funeral which was held at the C. P. church Thursday. Rev. Whitehead preached the funeral after which the body was laid in the cemetery at the church where his parents sleep. his relatives have our heartfelt sympathy.
