Mr. Neiens, the son of Michael P. and Katherine Anna Kurtenbach Neiens was born October 6, 1890 at St. Paul, Minnesota, and came with his parents when 14 years old to a farm near Wiota. He lived in the Wiota vicinity since. He was married to Mary Elizabeth Zierhut February 21, 1922 in St. Mary's Catholic church in Bridgewater. Mr. Neiens was a member of the Wiota Catholic church. Surviving are his wife; four daughters, Mrs. Leo Stakey, Massena; Mrs. Howard Christofferson, Exira; Dolores and Ramona, both at home; one son, Joe Neiens of Atlantic; two brothers, M. J. Neiens of Wiota and Jake C. Neiens, Atlantic, and one sister, Mrs. Fred Ehrman of Anita. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Lizzie Kopp, who died in 1929. Memorial services will be held Saturday morning at 10 o'clock at the Wiota Catholic church in Wiota, Father Joseph A. Devlin officiating. The remains will be taken from the Roland's Home for Funerals this afternoon to the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Stakey in Massena, and the Rosary will be recited there tonight and Friday evening at 8 o'clock. Interment will be in the Wiota Catholic cemetery. * Mr. Neiens' body was later re-interred in the Massena Catholic cemetery.
