Description	:	Colby Free Press [KS], September 19, 1990 JOHN R. BENDA John R. Benda, 64, died Monday, Sept. 17, 1990 at Decatur County Hospital in Oberlin. He was born Oct. 9, 1925 on a farm in Rawlins County. His parents were Robert and hazel Hurst Benda. Survivors include: his wife, Dolores of rural Oberlin; three sons, Bob of Tucson, Ariz., Don of Attwood, Dave of North Richland Hills, Texas; one daughter, Maryanne Bishop, Haxton, Colo., one brother, Wesley of Ludell; tow sisters, Ester Noren of Oberlin, and Ida Marie Erikson, Patagonia, Ariz; and eight grandchildren. Services are at 2 p. m. Thursday, Sept. 20, at Herndon Covenant Church, the Rev. Tom Garretson officiating. Burial will be at the Achilles Cemetery, Rawlins County. A memorial has been established at the Herndon Covenant Church building fund. Viewing will be until 9 p. m. Thursday at Pauls Funeral Home, Oberlin, and 9 a.m. to service time at the church.
