Description	:	John Nordman, 86, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, died on April 14, 2021, at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls following a severe stroke. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 19, 2021, at First Reformed Church in Sioux Falls. John Richard Nordman, son of Richard and Swanee (Bossman) Nordman, was born January 22, 1935, in Lennox, SD. John was united in marriage with Darlene (Hoek) Nordman on January 31st, 1954, in Lennox. After the birth of their first child, they moved to Sioux Falls. John attended Lennox High School. He excelled in track and field, and proudly held the record for the 100 yd dash for many years. John was a hardworking man and in his younger years, worked as many as three jobs at once. John, Darlene, and Christy were partners in Physique Boutique Athletic Wear from 1989 to 1994. John worked in various positions at NW Bell for 47 years, retiring in 2000. He enjoyed attending his children and grandchildren's many athletic activities and school performances. He was a talented artist, who shared his talent in murals and paintings within the walls of First Reformed Church. He also served as a Deacon and shared his position as Sunday School Superintendent with Earl Brown. After retiring, John enjoyed golfing with former co-workers and fellow church members, until a stroke prevented him to do so. John was adored by his grandchildren, and always had the biggest smile on his face when playing and visiting with them. Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Darlene; their children, Karla (Roy) Granum of Minnetrista, MN, Randy (Karla) Nordman of Garretson, SD, Christy Thompson of Sioux Falls, SD, Charlotte Nordman Sioux Falls, SD, Jason (Kerry) Nordman of Casa Grande, Arizona, and Christopher (Nikki) Nordman of Sioux Falls, SD; nine grandchildren: Nathan (Anna) Granum, Natalie (Kevin) Richards, Mason (Magen) Nordman, Marissa (Alvin) Corado, Kendra (Keith) Mayer, Trevor and Morgan Countryman, Danika and Kylee Ernesti; 16 great grandchildren: Mia, MaKenlee, and Toretto Corado, Carmin and Lily Nordman, Mitchell, Nolan, and Reagan Granum, Owen, Royce, Connor, Ian, Ayda Jo Richards, Easton Countryman, Samson Moss-Ernesti, and Amaya Kubick-Ernesti; his sister, Loretta (Skip) Randall; as well as many nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother; his sisters, Jenny (Jack) Jennings, Helen (Carl) Ness, and Emma (Roger) Menholt.
