The following account of his death is taken from the Marshalltown, Ia., Times-Republican: John R. Parker of Albion, Ia., a resident of that place for 11 years, died at his home after a brief illness of heart trouble, following chronic asthma. The following account of his death is taken from the Marshalltown, Ia., Times-Republican: John R. Parker of Albion, Ia., a resident of that place for 11 years, died at his home after a brief illness of heart trouble, following chronic asthma. Mr. Parker was a dealer in horses, and bought and shipped quite extensively up to the time his health prevented him from further engaging in business. Mr. Parker was a native of Leroy, Ill., and was born August 9, 1851. He was married Sep. 1, 1875 to Miss Fidelia Loucks, who survives him. Mr. and Mrs. Parker came to Albion from Fullerton, Neb., which was their home for several years, and where Mr. Parker was a member of Cedar River lodge A.F. and A.M. The funeral was held from the residence Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock conducted by Revs. Montgomery and Wyant. The members of Damascus Masonic lodge had charge of the service at the grave, interment following in the Albion cemetery.
