ALLEN, section 30, Benton Township, was born in Mason County, West Virginia, January 16, 1824, a son of William Allen. In the fall of 1849 he came to Iowa and lived in Jefferson County till the fall of 1852, when he removed to Wayne County and settled in Benton Township, entering 240 acres of Government land.
