Description	:	Rites Held Friday for John Millard, Age 20 Funeral services for John Millard, who passed away at Lundberg Memorial Hospital Tuesday, May 18 were conducted Friday afternoon at Zion Lutheran Church with the Rev. Adolph Lillich officiating. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ernest Jacobs Jr., Fred Largen Jr., Fred Diedrichsen, Darrell Keck, Walter Grosse and Darrell Kahny. John Richard Millard, son of Richard Millard and his wife, Ruth, nee Meier, was born on March 1, 1934 at Yankton, S.D. He was baptized in the Lutheran Church in Yankton. He came with his parents to Creighton in January, 1935 He was confirmed in Zion Lutheran Church July 27, 1947 and was a regular attendant at services and the Communion table. John received all his grade and high school education in the Creighton Public School, graduating in 1952. He attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln the first semester of 1952. In the spring of 1953 he attended Coe College at Cedar Rapids, Ia. He began working at different jobs as a boy. He was employed for six years at the former Blair Store. He was last employed at Gordon, taking the job last August. He became ill last summer. He underwent surgery at Sioux City, Ia. last March and in recent weeks was confined to his home. He was taken to Lundberg Memorial Hospital last Tuesday morning and passed away that evening at the age of 20 years. Surviving are his parents; one brother, Paul; one sister, Jeanne, all of Creighton; his grandmother, Mrs. Hanna Meier of Crofton and his fiancé, Miss Mardell Stutheit of Brunswick.
